ΟΘΩΝ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Youthful head of Otho to right; below truncation in tiny letters, K.Φ. Rev. 1/2 ΔΡΑΧΜΗ / 1846 Crowned shield bearing the coat of arms of Greece with the Wittelsbach arms at the center; all within an olive wreath with ties below. Divo 14e. Karamitsos 98. KM 19. KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Subaeratus, 33 mm, 14.81 g, 11 h), Possibly imitative, uncertain mint. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; no controls visible. HGC 3.1, 910. Minor porosity, otherwise, about very fine.
