ΚΟΙΝΟΝ ΑΡΜΕΝΙΑC ΕΤΟΥ-C ΜΓ Mourning Armenia, seated to left on a pile of shields; on her left, military trophy surmounted by Bashlyk. Kovacs 303 = RPC 2945 (this coin depicted) = SNG von Aulock 145 (this obverse die). Initially known to the RPC editors from a single example in the British Museum and originally from the collection of von Aulock, this was the second known, and to date the best available example. RPC has in the meantime decided to use this specimen to depict this type in its online edition. The denomination is by far scarcer compared to the "Sestertius" recorded in RPC 2944. A few areas of hard uncleaned deposits in both sides, otherwise, very fine.
