Demetriadis and reverse master die by Albert-Désiré Barre, plain edge marked with a cornucopia and 1OR (=.916 fine gold) 6h. ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ / 1915 Laureate mature head of Constantine I to left; below truncation, in small letters, K. Δ.; in the lower right field, ESSAI in small letters. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Greece; below, ΔΡAXMH; in the lower right field, ESSAI in small letters. Divo - (but this coin mentioned in the note to P100) = Karamitsos T.87 (this coin mentioned, but not illustrated) = KM E34 = Tzamalis, Νομίσματα Ελληνικού Χώρου, Δ56 (this coin). Unique and of the greatest historical importance! A remarkably beautiful and elegant coin; it is likely that the gold coins of 1915 were minted for the famous collection of Enzo Ferrari, which had a plethora of extraordinary gold coins. SICILY. Aitna. Circa 400-350 BC. Trias (Bronze, 22 mm, 8.02 g, 10 h). Head of Persephone to right, wearing grain wreath. Rev. Horse galloping right. CNG EA 130 (same dies). CNS 6. SNG ANS 1159. Red brown patina. Some roughness and traces of overstriking on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
