ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ The crown of the Kingdom of Greece; below, in tiny letters, A BOPPEΛ and 1901 flanked by the privy marks cornucopia (for the Mint Director) on the left and torch (for the Engraver General, Henri-Auguste Patey, 1896-1930) on the right. Rev. Laurel wreath tied below, containing the denomination, 1/ ΛΕΠΤON in two lines; above the tie, A. Divo 138b. Karamitsos C.2. KM 1. Graded by NGC "MS 63 RB". Cert number: 2909117-001.

LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos or Didrachm (Silver, 19 mm, 7.92 g, 2 h), Atha... Head of Demeter facing, turned slightly to the right, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earrings, and necklace; lower right, tiny AΠ. Rev. META Barley ear with leaf to right; above leaf, bucranium; below leaf, AΘA. HN III 1584. Johnston Class C, 2.5 (same dies). Well struck, clear and bright, with a particularly artistic and well centered three-quarters Demeter on the obverse. A beautiful coin. Good very fine.
