Gaius (Caligula), with Agrippina Senior, 37-41. Denarius (Silver, 17mm, 3.97 g 4), Rome, 40. C CAESAR AVG PON M TR POT III COS III Laureate head of Gaius to right. Rev. AGRIPPINA MAT C CAES AVG GERM Draped bust of Agrippina to right, her hair falling in a queue down the back of her neck. BMC 23. Cohen 6. RIC 22. Rare. An impressive portrait, sharply struck on a full flan. Minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
