KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.30 g, 11 h), struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, Kolophon, c. 310-301. Head of Herakles wearing lion's skin headdress to right. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long sceptre with his left; to left, KA monogram; below throne crescent. Price 1825. A toned, well struck example. Very fine.
