CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. Circa 3rd Century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 12.16 g, 12 h), Imitating Philip III of Macedon, struck in the Banat region. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Naked jockey on horseback to left, holding a palm; below, branch; countermark of wheel on horses' body Dembski 1047-1050. DT 9774. Flesche 674. OTA 72/2. III Π. Rare; a well centered, clear example of fine style. Minor clipping on the edge, otherwise, good very fine.
