CELTIC, Central Europe. Boii. first half of the 1st century BC. Stater (Gold, 16mm, 6.69 g), minted in the area of western and southwestern Slovakia as well as in northern Burgenland. Irregular convex bulge ornamented with a ‘hand’ and a globule. Rev. Concave, sea-shell shaped pattern with grain to right. Dembski 530. Flesche 477. Paulsen pl. 18, 378 (same dies). Rare. Toned. Extremely fine.
