ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟC ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟC CΕΒ Radiate and cuirassed bust of Elagabalus to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΚΕΝΔΡΕΙCΕΙΑ ΠΥΘΙΑ ΕΝ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠΟΛΙ ΝΕΩΚΟΡΩ Prize crown topped by five balls, all on top of an agonistic table with four legs ending in lions’ paws; below table, amphora holding two palm branches. Varbanov 1654. Rare. A large and attractive piece with a bold portrait and excellent green patina. Some flatness on the reverse and flan a little tight, otherwise, Extremely fine.
