THESSALY, Trikka. c. 440-400 BC. Obol (Silver, 12mm, 0.92 g 3). Horse galloping to left. Rev. Τ]ΡΙ-Κ [ ΚΑΙ]Ω[Ν] Nymph (Hygieia) standing left. wearing long robes with her cloak over her head, her left hand at her waist and her right extended to left, holding a phiale with which she feeds a serpent to her left, coiled to right. BCD-. Extremely rare, if not unique. Somewhat rough surfaces but clear. Good very fine.

From the Höher collection.

This piece is very unexpected; it is apparently hitherto unknown and unpublished. Its one parallel comes from Larissa and is a horse obol with the reverse of Asklepios feeding a snake (as BCD 1116).
