KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 17.08 g, 9 h), Carrhae mint, c. 305-300 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus Aetophoros seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; below throne, monogram; in the left field crescent and monogram. Price 3816. Excellent high relief example with very attractive details. About extremely fine.
