MACEDON. Thessalonica. Pseudo-autonomous, circa 187-31 BC. (Bronze, 18 mm, 7.07 g, 1 h), Helmeted head of Athena to right. Rev. ΘΕΣΣΑΛΟΝΙΚΗΣ Horse galloping to right; above, 8 rayed star. SNG ANS 770 (this reverse die). Struck on a thick plancet well centered with a lovely dark patina. Very fine.
