Maximianus, first reign, AD 286-305. Aureus (Gold, 21mm, 4.63 g 7), Siscia, 286. IMP C MA VAL MAXIMIANVS P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximianus to right. Rev. VIRTVS AVGVSTORVM Hercules standing facing, his head turned to right, his right hand resting on club, holding lion skin and bow with his left. Calicó 4746. Cohen 617. Depeyrot 1/11 (this coin cited). RIC V 573. Rare. Scratch on Maximianus’ cheek and a few minor nicks on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
