KINGS of MACEDON, n/a. n/a. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27mm, 17.03 g 4), Babylon, c. 311-300. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; to left, monogram within wreath; below throne, MI. Price 3746. A clear and sharply struck example with an impressive reverse. Good very fine.
