Galeotti (c.1520-1574) with a reverse designed by V. Borghini, c. 1567. COSMVS.MED.FLOREN.ET.SENAR.DVX II. Bare headed and cuirassed bust of Cosimo I to right. Rev. RES.MILITARIS.CONSTITVTA. Soldier, in classical armor, standing right at the top of a flight of steps, presenting standard to another soldier standing left on the steps below him; around, other soldiers. Attwood 864. Rare. Well-struck and of fine quality, and with a lovely brown tone. Extremely fine.
