Carausius. Romano-British Emperor, AD 286-293. Antoninianus (Billon, 4.93 g 7), “C” Mint = Camulodunum. IMP C CARAVSIVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Carausius to right. Rev. PROVID AVG / S - P / C Providentia standing left, holding cornucopiae in her left hand and staff, with globe at the base, in her right. RIC 364. An unusually nice and sharp example, still with remains of ancient silvering. Good extremely fine.
