Gordian I, 238. Sestertius (Bronze, 32mm, 22.54 g 1), Rome. IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian to right. Rev. P M TR P COS P P / S - C Gordian, laureate and togate, standing left, holding olive branch in his right hand and parazonium in his left. BMC 4. Cohen 3. RIC 7. Rare. An attractive example with clear surfaces and a brownish-green patina. Some smoothing, minor deposits and an insignificant double strike on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
