ATTICA, Athens. 165-149/8 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 34mm, 16.48 g 1). Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left and right, monogram; below, in field to right, Nike walking right, holding wreath; around, olive wreath. Thompson 33. An impressive coin struck on a broad flan. Heavily cleaned, bright, with a few minor traces of corrosion and very slight doublestriking on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
