ΠΡΙΓΚΗΨ ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ ΥΠΑΤΟΣ ΑΡΜΟΣΤΗΣ ΕΝ ΚΡΗΤΗ, •1901• Head of prince George to right; below truncation, in tiny letters, A. BOPPEΛ. Rev. ΚΡΗΤΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ Crowned and mantled shield bearing the coat of arms of the Cretan State, supported by two Herakles; below, 1 ΔΡΑΧΜΗ flanked by the privy marks cornucopia (for the Mint Director) on the left and and, on the right, a torch (for the Engraver General, Henri-Auguste Patey, 1896-1930). BA MΕΓ ANT[IOXOY] Diademed and draped bust of Antiochos I to right, wearing six-pointed tiara. Rev. BA MΕΓA MIΘPAΔ MIΘPAΔ Zebu bull butting to right. Alram 247. Kovacs 229 (same dies, but corr.). See Staab (2011) 63-66. An extremely rare coin. Die break on obverse and with uncleaned deposits as found, otherwise, good fine.
