Maximianus, First reign, 286-305. Argenteus (Silver, 3.29 g 6), Siscia, c. 295. MAXIMIANVS AVG Laureate head of Maximianus to right. Rev. PROVIDENTIA AVGG / *SIS Four Tetrarchs sacrificing over a tripod altar before the gate of a camp with seven towers. Apparently unpublished for Maximianus, but cf. RIC 54 (Constantius and Galerius Caesares). Extremely rare. Lustrous, bright and well-struck. Virtually as struck.
