MYSIA. Lampsakos. Circa 360. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 8.45 g, 11 h). Veiled head of Demeter to left, wearing a wreath of lotus flowers, pendant earring and a pearl necklace. Rev. Forepart of winged horse to right within a very shallow incuse square. Baldwin, Lampsakos 16. BMC 27. SNG Paris 1157 = Traité II, 2544. Very rare. With an elegant, dignified and high relief portrait of Demeter. Some very minor flatness of strike on the reverse, and struck from very slightly rusty dies, otherwise, good extremely fine.
