Constantine I, 307/10-337. Follis (Bronze, 23 mm, 4.73 g, 12 h), Heraclea, Γ = 3rd officina, late 312 or early 313. IMP C FL VAL CONSTANTINO P F INV AVG Laureate head of Constantine I to right. Rev. IOVI CONSERVATORI/(wreath)/SMHTΓ Jupiter standing facing, head left, chlamys draped over left shoulder, holding globe in right hand and scepter in left. RIC -, but cf. 71 with mintmark (wreath)-Δ/SMHT. Very rare and not in the RIC. Black patina. Extremely fine.

This variety with the officina mark following the mint mark is unrecorded in the RIC, but recently a further example, but from Δ = fourth officina and with a slightly different obverse legend - IMP C FL VAL CONSTANTINVS P F INV AVG - has appeared; see Numismatica Ibercoin Online Auction 27, 2019, 332, there attributed to RIC VI 541, which, in fact, does not exist!
