BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Zoilos I, circa 150-130 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 2.48 g, 12 h). ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΙΚΑΙΟΥ / ΖΩΙΛΟΥ Diademed and draped bust of Zoilos to right. Rev. Maharajas dhramikasa / Jhoilasa (in Karosthi) Herakles standing left, head facing, holding wreath in his right hand and a club and a lion's skin in his left; in field to left, monogram of ΑΥ. Bopearachchi 3B. HGC 12, 218. SNG ANS 968-72. Attractively and evenly toned; a very pleasant example. Virtually as struck.

Ex Dix Noonan Webb 148, 18 September 2018, originally acquired from Baldwin's in May 1945, and from the hoard found at Shabkadr, near Peshawar, on the then Northwest Frontier of British India .
