LYDIA. Blaundus. Domitian, as Caesar, 69-81. 1/3 Assarion (Bronze, 14 mm, 2.98 g, 1 h), struck under the magistrate Ti. Claudio Phoenix . ΔΟΜΙΤΙΑΝΟC ΚΑΙCΑΡ Draped and cuirassed bust of Domitian to right. Rev. ΒΛΑΟΥΝΔƐΩΝ ΤΙ ΚΛΑΥ ΦΟΙΝΙ Eagle with spread wings, standing to left, holding wreath in his beak; to left, palm branch. RPC II 1349 = RPC Online 1349.4 (this coin). SNG Copenhagen 91. Rare and unusually well preserved with sharp types and an attractive dark brown patina. Extremely fine.
