KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.59 g, 11 h), struck under Lysimachos, Kolophon, c. 301/0-300/299. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left, holding eagle in his right hand and scepter in his left; in field to left, head of a lion left above torch; below throne, pentagram. Price 1834. Struck from a slightly worn reverse die, otherwise, very fine.
