KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.58 g, 1 h), struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, Kolophon, c. 310-301. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter with his left; to left, K; below throne crescent. Price 1826. Flan flaw on reverse, otherwise, very fine.
