KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 16.86 g, 8 h), ‘Amphipolis’, struck under Antipater, circa 322-320. Head of youthful Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on throne, holding a vertical scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, cornucopiae. Price 108. Perfectly centered and attractive. Light porosity, otherwise, very fine.
