KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 13.77 g, 7 h), Amphipolis, struck c. 315/4-295/4. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm branch and reins, riding horse to right; below horse, Λ above a bucranium; below horse’s foreleg, monogram of AΔ within wreath. Le Rider pl. 47, 4 (same dies). Sharp head of Zeus, and with attractive find patina. Good very fine.
