KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.00 g, 12 h), Priene, circa 280-275. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔΡOΥ Zeus seated to left on high-backed throne, holding eagle on his outstreched right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, trident over ΠPI/BI. Price 2234B. Very rare, and of fine Hellenistic style. Reverse slightly double-struck, otherwise, good very fine.
