MACEDON. Neapolis. Circa 500-480 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 9.72 g). Facing head of a Gorgon with gnashing teeth and protruding tongue. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. SNG ANS 411 (same reverse die). A very sharply struck, well-centered, and beautifully toned piece. Slightly granular surfaces, otherwise, extremely fine.
