JUDAEA, Samaria. Caesaraea Maritima. Philip I, 244-249. (Bronze, 29 mm, 22.69 g, 6 h). IMP C M IVL PHILIPPVS P F AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right. Rev. COL PR FL AVG F C CAES METR Ceres standing right, holding grain-ears and resting on torch around which a serpent coils, emerging from a cista, facing Dionysos standing left, holding bunch of grapes (?) and thyrsos. BMC 140 = Kadman 121 = RPC VIII Online unassigned ID 2161. Dark green patina. Extremely rare and only known from a single example according to the editors of RPC. Obverse struck off-center, otherwise, fine.
