Hyperpyron (Gold, 30 mm, 4.41 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 1143-1152. + KE RO - HΘEI / IC-XC Facing bust of Christ, nimbate and with five pellets in each arm of the cross, raising his right hand in benediction and holding scroll of Gospels in his left. Rev. MANOYHΛ ΔECΠOT - TW ΠOPΦYPOΓNHT Manuel standing facing, eight (or more?) jewels in his chlamys border, holding labarum in his right hand and patriarchal cross on globe in his left; above to right, manus Dei. DOC 1e. SB 1956. Attractive and lustrous. About extremely fine.
