IONIA. Teos. Valerian I, 253-260. Triassarion (Bronze, 28 mm, 8.76 g, 5 h), struck under the strategos Klaudios Pankrates. Λ Κ ΠΟ ΛΙ ΟΥΑΛΕΡΙΑ/ΝΟC Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian I to right; in the field to right, c/m of Γ <3> within a circular indent. Rev. CTP KΛ ΠΑ-ΝΚΡΑΤ/ΟΥ ΤΗ/ΙΩΝ Dionysos seated left, holding kantharos in right hand and thyros in left. BMC -. BNF Online FRBNF41777482 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen 1528 (same dies). SNG von Aulock 2271 (same reverse die). For countermark: Howgego 774. Uncleaned as found, with a green patina and light earthen highlights. Very fine.
