BITHYNIA. Nicaea. Vespasian, 69-79. (Bronze, 29 mm, 11.60 g, 6 h), struck under the proconsul Marcus Plancius Varus. ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΟΡΙ ΚΑΙΣΑΡΙ ΣΕΒΑΣΤΩ ΟΥΕΣΠΑΣΙΑΝΩ ΝΕΙΚΑΙΕ Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. ΕΠΙ ΜΑΡΚΟΥ ΠΛΑΝΚΙΟΥ ΟΥΑΡΟΥ ΑΝΘΥΠΑΤΟΥ Draped bust of Dionysos to left, wearing ivy wreath. RG 47. RPC II 628. Brown patina. Surfaces slightly rough and fields lightly smoothed, otherwise, very fine.
