JUDAEA, Bar Kochba Revolt. 132-135 CE. Zuz or Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.44 g, 1 h), undated, attributed to year 3 = 134-135 CE. Simon (Paleo-Hebrew) within wreath of thin branches wrapped around eight almonds, with a medallion at top and tendrils at bottom; pairs of dots between each section of wreath. Rev. For the freedom of Jerusalem (Paleo-Hebrew) Fluted jug with handle on left; no willow branch. Hendin 1428. Meshorer 284. Mildenberg 132 (O19/R92). Overstruck on a drachm of Trajan, with the portrait and a few letters clearly defined on the reverse. Nearly extremely fine.
