MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophoric Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 12.68 g, 12 h), c. 150-140. Cista mystica from which snake coils; all within ivy wreath. Rev. Two serpents entwined around bow and bowcase; to left, monogram of ΠΕΡ; within lower left serpent coil, galley prow; to right, filleted thyrsos. Kleiner & Noe Series 24b. SNG BN -. Extremely rare variety with the prow in the serpent's coil. Sharply struck and quite attractive. About extremely fine.
