KINGS OF LYDIA. Kroisos, circa 560-546 BC. Hekte (Gold, 8 mm, 1.35 g), light standard, Sardes. Confronted foreparts of, on the left, a lion with open mouth to right, and, on the right, a bull to left. Rev. Two square incuse punches of unequal size, together forming an incuse rectangle. Berk 8. Nomos 1, 109. Traité I, 406 and pl. X, 8 = de Luynes 2801. Weber 6772. A really nice, well-struck piece. Good very fine.

While the light gold staters of Kroisos are relatively easy to come by, the fractions are much rarer, especially the sixths.
