CARIA. Tabai. Circa 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 19.5 mm, 2.64 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Artemon, son of Papios. Head of Herakles to right. Rev. TABHNΩN APTEMΩN ΠAΠIOY Cult statue of Ephesia Artemis; to left and right, star and crescent; on the left, before the city name, monogram of AP. Cf. Karl 313, Robert 1954, Issue H, SNG Munich 429 and SNG von Aulock 2703 (on all the cited examples the letters ΑΡ, the abbreviation for archon, appear individually and not in monogram form as they do here). A pleasing coin, lightly toned. Minor flan crack. Good very fine.
