Diocletian, 284-305. Argenteus (Bronze, 19 mm, 2.23 g, 6 h), ancient imitation, as Rome, B = 2nd officina, c. 295-297 or slightly later. DIOCLETI-ANVS AVG Laureate head of Diocletian to right. Rev. VIRTVS MILITVM / B The four tetrarchs sacrificing over tripod in front of the gate of a six-turreted camp. Cf. Jelocnik 45. Cf. RIC 40a. Cf. RSC 516†g. Green patina. Minor chiping of patina on obverse, otherwise, good fine.



Although the style of this piece adheres to the original, this coin must be imitative as it was struck in bronze.
