KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 17.05 g, 5 h), struck posthumously, uncertain mint in Greece or Macedonia, c. 310-275. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on a throne with a back, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; in field to left, Α above facing bull's head. Price 834. Very attractive, lightly toned and very nicely centered. Extremely fine.
