Divus Vespasian, died 79. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 34.5 mm, 20.55 g, 6 h), struck under Titus, Rome. DIVO AVG VESPAS / SPQR Seated statue of Divus Vespasian, holding scepter in right hand and Victory set on globe in his left, in car drawn right by four elephants with drivers. The side of the car is decorated with two relief bands depicting captured arms. Rev. IMP T CAES DIVI VESP F AVG P M TR P P P COS VIII around S C. BMC 223. BN 231. Cohen 206. RIC² 258. Natural sea green patina. Some minor corrosion on the reverse, otherwise, good fine.
