PISIDIA. Sagalassus. Claudius II, 268-270. 10 Assaria (Bronze, 33 mm, 17.16 g, 12 h). AY•K•M•AYP• KΛAYΔIO-N Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Claudius II Gothicus to right, seen from behind; before, value mark I. c/m: eagle standing right, head left, holding wreath in beak. Rev. CAΓAΛACCEΩN Kybele, wearing polos, enthroned between two lions to left, holding patera in her right hand and leaning her left elbow on a tympanon on the seat of her throne. SNG BNF -; but an example was subsequently acquired by the BNF in 2014 (inventory 2014.38). For the c/m: Howgego 335. Extremely rare. Possibly the second known example. Host coin flatly struck, otherwise, about very fine.
