ATTICA, Athens. Circa 420s BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24mm, 17.11 g 9). Head of Athena to right, wearing disc earring, pearl necklace and a crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and a spiral palmette. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing to right, head facing the viewer; to left, olive sprig and crescent moon; all within incuse square. Kroll 8c ff. Svoronos, Trésor pl. 14. Countermarked on the reverse for use in Egypt and the Levant. Struck on a relatively short flan, otherwise, very fine.
