AEQVITAS AVGVST Aequitas standing left, holding scales in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. BMC 24. BN 13. Cohen 6. RIC 13. An attractive, well struck and nicely toned piece. Reverse slightly weak, otherwise, extremely fine.

Nerva was a very effective stop gap emperor, who was put into place after the assassination of Domitian. By choosing Trajan, a very popular general, to be his successor, he defused any further coup attempts by either the Praetorian Guard or the army.
