Rev. S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI S C Trajan, in armor, on horse galloping to right, hurling spear at fallen Dacian crawling to right. BMC 839. Cohen 508. Hill 216. RIC 543. A lovely clear example with a splendid portrait. Lovely brownish gold Tiber patina. Minor flan crack, otherwise, extremely fine.


This is a beautiful example of one of Trajan’s issues commemorating his victories in the Dacian wars.
