KINGS OF MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31.5 mm, 15.36 g, 10 h), of reduced Attic weight, Pella or Amphipolis, c. 171-168. Diademed head of Perseus to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙ-ΛΕΩΣ ΠΕΡ-ΣΕΩΣ Eagle with spread wings standing right on thunderbolt; above eagle's head, monogram of NK; to right, monogram of AY; between legs, monogram of ΛΩ; all within oak wreath; below, plow to right. De Luca 294 (O61/R263, this coin). HGC 3.1, 1094. Mamroth, Perseus 20b. Attractive, with a fine portrait, toned and struck on a broad flan. About extremely fine.
