C. Antius Restio was a tribune who passed a sumptuary law regulating the costs of entertainments in 68 BC; for this he was forced to flee Rome by angry aristocrats. The moneyer of this coin was his son, and was proscribed by the triumvirs in 43 BC but managed to escape to Sicily with the help of one of his slaves.
