An interesting example of a coin that must have circulated for at least 150 years, if not more. Since the value of the coin was solely determined by its size, the fact that much of the design was worn away would not have mattered to its user. Examples that are nearly worn flat are known from hoards and excavations; many of those must have been lost as late as the Julio-Claudian period.
