PHRYGIA. Laodicea ad Lycum. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Hemiassarion or Semis (Bronze, 14.5 mm, 2.90 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate, Sosthenes, circa 10 BC. ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ Capricorn to right, his head turned back to left, bearing cornucopia on his back. Rev. ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΩΝ ΣΩΣΘΕΝΗΣ Three corn ears bound together. RPC 2897. RPC online 2897.10 (this coin). Waddington 6260. Unusually fine details for type, among the best known. Obverse slightly off-center, otherwise, very fine.
