Chaise d’Or (Gold, 29 mm, 4.71 g, 8 h), issue of 17 July 1346. + PhILPPVS : DЄI : GRΛCIΛ : FRΛnCORVM : RЄX (double saltire stops) King seated facing on ornate Gothic throne, holding a lis-tipped scepter in his right hand and a lis in his outstretched left; all within a tressure of nine arcs, with a trefoil in the spandrels. Rev. + XP'C VInCIT XP'C RЄGИΛT XP'C IMPЄRΛT (triple annulet stops) Ornate cross fleurée, with small plain cross at the center, and with each crossbar ending in a quatrefoil and a lis flanked by leaves; all within a quadrilobe with arc ending in trefoils, and with a crown in each spandrel.
